Cloybank Estate near Banknock, Falkirk, will be the first of its kind in the World, bringing agriculture, sport, and small businesses together in a 43 acres self-contained area along with leisure and field activities. Cloybank's MD John Penman says: "This will be an academy in the true sense of the word. There is nothing like this anywhere else in the world"
Youngsters would be introduced to eco-education and small holding farming techniques, many of which have been all but lost over the years. There is also the chance for the visiting school kids to try their hand at sporting activities including golf and angling.
We hope that, with so many youngsters flocking through the doors, the coaches at the academy will recognise future sporting champions among their number.
The estate comprises of small-scale land management projects, each of them separate and self-sustaining. This regeneration of lost agricultural land will attract employment and business to the area while making a valuable contribution towards reversing the trend of rural depreciation.
